Small experiments with QR codes
We build simple payment tools for a living. This is the bench where we try things that aren’t about payments at all — just what else a square of black and white can do.
Say It Forward
A QR you stick somewhere real — a bench, a café wall, a hostel corridor. Scanning it opens a public wall of short notes from strangers who passed through. Read them, and leave a line for whoever comes next.
- ✓Anyone can start one — no sign-up, no account
- ✓A public wall — read the notes, add one if you like
- ✓Add emoji, share the link or QR with friends
Canary Doc
A small defensive tool for confidential files. Generate a Word document, and this page keeps a private log of when it's opened, the same "canary token" idea security teams use to notice a leak.
- ✓No macros — a document field, not a script
- ✓A private page to review the log
- ✓Free, no PayVia account needed
Small tools for daily Malaysian life
Free, no sign-up — each one takes under a minute and runs on any phone.
Split the bill
One total, one headcount — everyone gets an exact share, plus a QR with the amount baked in if you upload yours.
Tip jar / duit raya
A personal QR page for anyone who deserves a little something.
Queue by QR
Customers take a number from their own phone and watch the counter move.
Lucky draw
Type the names, spin the wheel, project it on the wall.
QR name card
A scannable contact card for your counter, laptop lid or phone case.
The Gray Ledger
A persistent Victorian-cosmic strategy game: explore the fog-shrouded city of Morvain, trade ingredients at the Bazaar, grow a business empire, and brew your way up the nine Sequences. Your journey is saved to your PayVia account — continue on any device.
Enter MorvainGames so small, the whole thing fits in a QR code
Each game below is a single web page of about one or two kilobytes — no app, no framework, no tracking. Scan the code, it opens in a tap and keeps working with no signal.
Barely there
One HTML file, ~1 KB. Smaller than a single photo. Nothing is downloaded or tracked.
Opens in a tap
Scan the code with your normal phone camera. The game loads instantly and runs offline.
The whole game in a QR
It’s small enough that the entire game also fits inside one QR — grab the self-contained version.
Snake
1180 bytesThe classic — swipe to steer, eat the dots, don’t bite your tail. The whole game is about 1.2 KB.
Reaction Test
894 bytesTap the instant the screen turns green. Shows your reflex in milliseconds and keeps your best for the session.
Fortune Tap
1021 bytesA small wish for your day, in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Tap for another. Print it on a card and let someone scan a little luck.
Memory Match
985 bytesSixteen tiles, eight pairs. Flip two, keep the matches, clear the board.
Tic-Tac-Toe
1176 bytesPass-and-play on one phone — X starts, three in a row wins. Tap the board after a game to restart.
2048 Micro
1716 bytesThe classic merge game in miniature — slide with the arrow buttons and chase the 2048 tile. Under 2 KB.
Mines Mini
1885 bytesEight by eight, ten mines. Tap to open, toggle flag mode to mark. A full minesweeper in about 1.8 KB, first tap always safe.
Kata
1941 bytesA Wordle-style guesser for 4-letter Malay words — six tries, green and amber hints, and a new word every day.
Ketupat Catch
1161 bytesKetupat fall from the top — tap to catch them before they land. Three misses and Raya is over. A seasonal tapper in about 1 KB.
The code beside each game opens it by link — works with any camera. The “self-contained QR” holds the entire game in the pattern itself; open that one with a dedicated QR-scanner app, since the iPhone Camera and Google Lens won’t run it.
